My name is Inês Salgado
and I am a Portuguese Psychologist, full member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists (no. 27426), currently working in Dublin, Ireland, where I am a Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI no. M14423).
I have always been captivated by the profound impact of human connections. People's stories, their emotions and how their relationships shape their lives move me. I've dedicated my career to helping others navigate their journeys and I am committed to creating a space to listen and be heard for everyone.
I base my clinical practice on scientific evidence and strive to update my knowledge through ongoing training and supervision.

I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. My dissertation focused on the Transition Process from Kindergarten to Elementary School, and my research has delved into the areas of Foster Care and Adoption.
I have extensive experience working in educational settings, where I've collaborated with children from preschool to high school. My work has involved conducting assessments and interventions for children with developmental disorders and learning difficulties. I led several intervention projects aimed at promoting literacy skills in both preschool and primary school children and have provided consultation services to school staff and parents.
Furthermore, I have a clinical background, specialising in the assessment of learning disorders such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, as well as ADHD. My clinical experience includes providing psychological interventions for a range of issues including fears and anxieties, depression, inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, disobedience, aggressive behaviour, and social and relationship difficulties.
In addition to my clinical work, I have pursued advanced training in Third Wave Therapies and Dyscalculia and Low Math Achievement. My specialisation in Third Wave Therapies has equipped me with expertise in mindfulness-based interventions (e.g., MBSR, MBCT), Emotional Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT). These therapies have been applied in various clinical situations, including mood disorders, psychosis, eating disorders, obesity, and personality disorders.
My post-graduation in Dyscalculia and Low Math Achievement has deepened my understanding of mathematics learning difficulties. I am skilled in identifying, assessing, and intervening with students who struggle with dyscalculia or low mathematics achievement, using the conceptual basis of the Singapore Math Method.
I'm committed to working collaboratively with you.
